Unit 2B: Drone Landing Pad 2D CAD Drawings
This was part of my Level 3 BTEC coursework, where I was given a client brief requiring me to create engineering drawings that followed BS 8888.
In this project, I used manual engineering drawing artifacts to create new and improved engineering drawings for a drone landing pad. The drawings were meticulously created by following BS 8888 and BS 60617 standards, ensuring compliance with industry guidelines. I focused on using appropriate layers and lines to improve the clarity and precision of the designs.
This required a range of skills, including:
Attention to detail to ensure that every element of the drawing was accurate and met industry standards.
Technical drawing skills to effectively represent 3D objects on a 2D plane.
Knowledge of engineering standards such as BS 8888 and BS 60617 to ensure the drawings were compliant.
Manual drafting techniques for precise line work, scaling, and dimensioning.
Problem-solving to adjust and refine designs based on the technical requirements and project constraints.
